A welcoming getaway for a couple or family and a canine companion, this charming barn conversion is set in a peaceful hamlet in the heart of Cornwall – making it an ideal base for exploring unspoilt countryside, pretty towns and villages and historic houses.
This cosy cottage combines a traditional feel with all the amenities you’ll need for a relaxing getaway. The kitchen is set at one end of the open-plan living space, with a breakfast bar for drinks and snacks adjacent. At the opposite end is a lounge area, with reclining seating all set for watching your favourite shows on the TV. Upstairs, there’s another seating area with views over the garden and a large dining table and chairs, the perfect spot for a sociable meal. A good-sized wet room sits between the two appealing bedrooms, one a double with a Juliet balcony and the other a twin with access to the garden. In warmer weather, you’ll love spending time on the spacious patio (great for pups or children to let off steam), where there’s a swing seat, dining furniture and a BBQ.
With a local pub less than 2 miles away, the barn has walks from the front door and is just 3 miles from Kit Hill Country Park, where there are 400 acres of heathland with dramatic views. The ancient market town of Tavistock is 11 miles, while Plymouth is 17 miles – its National Marine Aquarium is well worth a visit, as is its delightful old port area, the Barbican, full of specialist shops and great places to eat. Fans of stately homes can reach Port Eliot in 11 miles, the National Trust’s Antony in 18.5 miles, and Lanhydrock in 20.5 miles. The nearest beaches are on the south coast, spread along Whitsand Bay around 15 miles away.
