Because its such a beautifully unspoilt Cornish fishing village, Porthleven holiday cottages with harbour views are always extremely popular. It's not suprising – with such an active harbour, there is always something to watch going on! The most Southerly port in England, Porthleven harbour was constructed in the early 1800's and was completed in 1825, after 14 years of labour. Facing directly South-West it was built to offer boats shelter from the notoriously wild storms. The well-protected inner harbour was soon added in 1858 to ensure the safety of moored fishing boats.
Much of our Porthleven holiday cottages with harbour views sit next to this inner harbour, and are therefore perfectly positioned to help our guest feel part of the history of this special village.
